Introduction:Shanker Lamichane was among the few Nepali writers who have had the opportunity to study in the west, and this is why his works have an important role in the Nepalese literature of the yester years. In writing Lamichane followed in the footprints of Devkota and adding his own new methods and ways of expressing himself. In his numerous essays and writings Shanker Lamichane has fought for the rights of women in the society. Because he had the advantage of both Eastern and western education he has been able present his ideologies and beliefs in a very scholarly manner.
