IntroductionKavishiromani Lekhnath Poudyal will always be remembered for his numerous poems that entangle themselves with the Nepalese tradition, culture and religion. In his poems we find the heart of Nepal, the fine tunes of the village life, of the beauty of nature and of simplicity. His most renowned work perhaps is the poem "Pinjhara Ko Suga" in which he has symbolized the then Nepalese people as a parrot inside a cage and the Rana rulers as the jailers. This poem was so successful in making the people realize their situation that many times it was used as the tragic song of political heroes in jail.
